The Federal National Registry
The Federal National Registry is a database containing information about the nation's State Certified and Licensed real estate appraisers.  It does not contain information on ALL appraisers - only those currently certified or licensed by a U.S. State, Territory or possession and authorized to perform appraisals involving federally-related real estate transactions.

State appraiser regulatory agencies are charged with keeping the National Registry current and submit appraiser information to the ASC (Appraisal Subcommittee of the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council) at least monthly.

The ASC's purpose is to ensure that appraisers, who perform appraisals in real estate transactions that could expose the US government to financial loss, are sufficiently trained and tested to assure competency and independent judgment.  Note: Only State certified or licensed appraisers who are on this National Registry are authorized under Federal law to perform appraisals in connection with federally related transactions.
